Route 203 is a provincial highway located in the Montérégie region of Quebec south of Montreal. The highway starts from the Canada–United States border south of Havelock at the north end of County Road 10 at Cannon Corners at the Cannon Corners-Covey Hill Border Crossing in Mooers, NY. From there, it proceeds north toward Saint-Chrysostome, from there it follows the north shore of the Rivière des Anglais until it connects with Route 138 in Très-Saint-Sacrement just northeast of the enclaved municipality of Howick. Sainte-Martine () is a municipality in Beauharnois-Salaberry Regional County Municipality in the Montérégie region of Quebec, Canada. The population as of the 2021 Canadian census was 5,664. The municipality is made up of a large northern section and a small unattached southern area that was known as the municipality of Saint-Paul-de-Châteauguay until its merger with Sainte-Martine on September 9, 1999. History Sainte-Martine is named in honor of Martina of Rome, martyred in 226. Being already settled and recognize as Sainte-Martine for many years, the status of the municipality was officialized on July 1, 1855, as the parish municipality of Sainte-Martine. The municipality lost a section of its territory in 1885 for the creation of the parish of Très-Saint-Sacrement. It also lost a sizeable part in 1937 when Saint-Paul-de-Châteauguay split from Saint-Martine to become its own municipality, but it was eventually reattached to Sainte-Martine in 1999. Ormstown, Quebec
Ormstown is a municipality in Quebec, Canada, which is situated on the Châteauguay River in the heart of the Châteauguay Valley. It is approximately one hour southwest of Montreal and 20 minutes north of New York State in the United States. The population as of the 2021 Canadian census was 3,917. Ormstown has two elementary schools, one high school ( Chateauguay Valley Regional), and two adult education facilities, several restaurants and churches. Ormstown is also well known for its numerous antique dealers and unique gift shops. Hemmingford is a township municipality in south-west Quebec. The population as of the 2021 Canadian census was 1,995. The township completely surrounds the Village of Hemmingford. The two entities (village and township) are locally referred to collectively as Hemmingford. The two share many things, such as the cost of the volunteer fire department, and both hold their councils and offices in the same building in the village. History The geographic township was established in 1799, and named after Hemingford Abbots, in Huntingdonshire, England. The Saint-Romain-de-Hemmingford mission was set up in 1838 (which became a parish in 1853), while the first Anglican church was built 1843. Quebec Route 138
Route 138 is a major highway in the Canadian province of Quebec, following the entire north shore of the St. Lawrence River past Montreal to the temporary eastern terminus in Kegashka on the Gulf of St. Lawrence. The western terminus is in Elgin, at the border with New York State south-west of Montreal (connecting with New York State Route 30 at the Trout River Border Crossing). Part of this highway is known as the '' Chemin du Roy'', or King's Highway, which is one of the oldest highways in Canada. It passes through the Montérégie, Montreal, Lanaudière, Mauricie, Capitale-Nationale and Côte-Nord regions of Quebec.
